Iranian ‘180° Rule’ en route to Indian Bengaluru

Iranian movie ‘180° Rule’ is to compete at the Bengaluru Int’l filmfest in India.

Iranian movie ‘180° Rule’ has been scheduled to compete at the 2022 edition of the Bengaluru International Film Festival (BIFFes) in India.

Directed by Farnoush Samadi, the movie is starring Sahar Dolatshahi, Pejman Jamshidi, Azita Hajian, and Hassan Pourshirazi.

“Sara and her husband Hamed and their little daughter have been invited to a wedding in north of Iran, but Hamed cannot travel due to work-related problems and this is the beginning of an incident that changes Sara’s life,” a synopsis of the film reads.

‘180° Rule’ has so far won a number of awards at some global events, including the Toronto International Film Festival in Canada and the Valladolid International Film Festival in Spain.

It has also gone on screen at events such as the Borderlines Film Festival in the UK, the Hong Kong International Film Festival, the Istanbul Film Festival in Turkey, and the Beirut International Women Film Festival in Lebanon, where it received awards for Best Feature Film and Best Ensemble Cast.

The 13th edition of the BIFFes has different sections, including contemporary world cinema and Asian cinema competition.

According to the official website of the festival, “it will also host various sessions for the academic interactions / discourse on different aspects of Filmmaking & Film Appreciation, through Seminars, Workshops, Master classes etc.”.

The upcoming edition of the BIFFes will be held on March 3-10, 2022.
